Established in 1997, the company operates the Japan Network Access Point (JPNAP), one of the largest and most reliable internet exchange points in the Asia Pacific region. IMF opened the first commercial IXP in Osaka in 2002, the very next year of opening JPNAP Tokyo in 2001, as they understood the importance of geographically redundant network hubs in disaster prone Japan from the beginning. JPNAP Osaka is the largest IXP in Osaka.

Peering Asia 8.0 is scheduled to take place from 3 -5 November 2026 as a three-day, in-person event. We anticipate participation from over 450 attendees representing more than 150 organizations.
